چکیده

Controlled-release Nitrogen Fertilizers (CRNFs) are an effective fertilization technique by minimizing nutrient loss and making (N) available to plants as they grow. Biochar-based CRNF (BCRNF) technologies have been demonstrated very promising in increase of corn yield. Despite the beneficial effects BCRNFs, their impacts on prokaryotic fungal soil communities not well evaluated. Different formulations BCRNF were developed investigate productivity. We analyzed microbes functional potential under different regimes using amplified V3–V4 region 16s rRNA for determining prokaryotic, ITS genes communities. The diversity was similar across treatments, with differences genera relative abundance 0.1% or less (p < 0.05). In contrast, community only unfertilized soil. It had a high Aspergillus. Genus level comparison showed that Pseudofabraea higher Bioasphalt-based compared other treatments. Moreover, N-fixing also At genus level, Microvirga, Azospirillum, Methyloprofundus highest no-fertilizer control. predictions PICRUSt2 portrayed consistent N-cycling functions However, predicted gene related nitrous-oxide reductase (nosZ) hydroxylamine (hcp) significantly lower receiving containing biosolid. Overall, treatments previously identified yield displayed minimal shifts microbial Thus, such novel would enable increased crop without affecting leading sustainable production.

Cumulative release characteristics of controlled-release nitrogen and potassium fertilizers and their effects on soil fertility, and cotton growth

To investigate the interacting effects of polymer coated urea (PCU) and polymer coated potassium chloride (PCPC) on cotton growth, an experiment was conducted with containerized plants in 2014 and 2015. There were two kinds of nitrogen fertilizer, PCU and urea, which were combined with PCPC at three application rates (40, 80 and 120 kg ha-1). The kinds of nitrogen fertilizer formed the main plo...

A Novel Function of Controlled-Release Nitrogen Fertilizers

Nitrogen is the most important essential nutrient that plays a major role in achieving maximum crop yield in agriculture. Therefore, nitrogen fertilizers such as ammonium sulfate and urea have been extensively used in modern agriculture. These fertilizers are generally oxidized to nitrate via nitrite by nitrifying microorganisms in the agricultural field (4, 10, 11). The serious environmental p...

Role of Slow-Release Nanocomposite Fertilizers on Nitrogen and Phosphate Availability in Soil

Developing efficient crop fertilization practices has become more and more important due to the ever-increasing global demand for food production. One approach to improving the efficiency of phosphate and urea fertilization is to improve their interaction through nanocomposites that are able to control the release of urea and P in the soil. Nanocomposites were produced from urea (Ur) or extrude...

Long-term Effects of Nitrogen Fertilizers on Soil Acidity

Agroecosystems are domesticated ecosystems intermediate between natural ecosystems and fabricated ecosystems, and occupy nearly one-third of the land areas of the earth. Chemical perturbations as a result of human activity are particularly likely in agroecosystems because of the intensity of that activity, which include nutrient inputs intended to supplement native nutrient pools and to support...

Biochar Impacts on Soil Physical Properties and Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Biochar, a co-product of a controlled pyrolysis process, can be used as a tool for sequestering C in soil to offset greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and as a soil amendment. Whereas the impacts of biochar application on soil chemical properties are widely known, the research information on soil physical properties is scarce. The objectives of this review are to (i) synthesize available data on s...
